The collection period is stated on every auction and will be repeated on emails with buyer’s invoices after the sale ends. You must collect or agree with us any alternative arrangement before the stated collection deadline ends; if you do not, you will be charged storage costs; contact us if you are not able to meet the stated collection deadline.
The suitable collection types will be listed on every lot, based on weight, volume, suitability and a bit of common sense. The collection types are:
Collection in person
Most sales are held from our primary Auction Center, WORTH House based in Whitefield, Manchester [more information]. If the Lot is ‘on site” the address will be stated on the Lot.
We have fork lift trucks and other material handling equipment to assist you with your collection. JPS staff are there to supervise your collection, appreciation for any additional help should be rewarded with at least a thank you.
Once a Lot has left our premises, we will not accept any returns or be able to offer any refund. Collecting in person allows you to satisfy yourselves as to the contents of the Lot. If we agree that a Lot description and images are not correct and the photographs are wrong, we will consider a refund.
We try very hard to ensure that listings are accurate, and informative, however, it requires a great deal of human input. Any mistakes we may make are genuine as the cataloging process is often lengthy and arduous.
In all the years we have been holding sales, not one person has ever offered to pay more when they realise the lot is better than they thought it would be. We do encourage viewing before a sale, perhaps giving the chance to view a lot under described, or a missed hidden gem?
If you need, we will palletise your Lots (where possible). We will shrink wrap, band or both as needed. We charge £10 plus VAT per pallet and a standard rate of £2.50 per lot, unless specifically stated otherwise on each lot listing under the COLLECTION heading.
You need to arrange for your own transport company to collection from us and deliver to you. You are welcome to use a transport company of your choice.
We would recommend Austin Wilkinson who have provided us with rates for Palletline network delivery. They offer delivery with a tail lift if you need for only a small supplement more.

DPD 24 hour tracked shipping is offered for lots under 30kg, volumetrically suitable and where applicable. Subject to DPD terms and conditions. Parcels must be rigid and under the size restrictions imposed by DPD.
We charge £12.95 (including VAT) per Parcel for UK Mainland, and where possible will fit more than one lot in each parcels to minimise your costs and a standard rate of £2.50 per lot, unless specifically stated otherwise on each lot listing under the COLLECTION heading. please ask if you have a location outside of UK Mainland and we will advise of shipping costs.
We believe that DPD offer the best service to buyers, and this comes at a small cost increment. Buyers will receive an email or SMS message providing a small time window, as well as real time tracking to see where your parcel is. Your tracking number will be sent to you when the Lots are dispatched.
Standard insurance is £100 per Parcel.
If we are able to reduce the number of parcels that you have paid to be shipped, we will refund you for those extra unneeded parcels.
Collection by your courier
If you arrange your own courier, you must email us replying to the email you receive with your invoice, to authorise us to release the Lot to your appointed collector. If you need us to print a consignment note and place it on the box, we will do so. You can also email us on collections@JPSsurveyors.co.uk.
We charge a fee of £2 plus a standard rate of £2.50 per lot, unless specifically stated otherwise on each lot listing under the COLLECTION heading. If a lot is already boxed and just needs the consignment note printing, then we will charge.
Some lots are available for collection only. This may be because they require disconnection, are too big or heavy for palletised transport, too fragile or just not appropriate.
We will clearly state on a lot if it is for collection only. Whilst we will assist if we can, you must ensure you are able to act with regard to Health & Safety considerations.
There are some Lots which require specialised transport, e.g. low loaders, flatbeds with hi-ab crane, boats, temperature controlled, etc.
They will be marked as COLLECTION ONLY lots. You will be required to comply with any H&S requirements.
If you need any recommendations to help, please ask.
We may be able to recommend a Man and a Van or deliver it ourselves, rates normally start at £45 per hour plus VAT to include the vehicle and labor, but please email Collections@JPSsurveyors.co.uk or call us on 0161 767 8001 to discuss your specific requirements.
