Mark is an RICS Registered Valuer and  Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), a member of the RICS International Faculty Board for Machinery and Business Assets, founding member of the steering committee for the RICS Recovery and Insolvency Forum and a fourth generation auctioneer.

As Managing Director of JPS Chartered Surveyors, Mark is ultimately responsible for all JPS Chartered Surveyors operations and has an ongoing remit for product and service development with a considerable knowledge and ability with information systems. Mark manages on site disposal exercises and specialist valuations; he has performed his professional duties internationally for most industries ranging from semi-conductor component plants, to power stations and has extensive purchaser contacts for stocks and surplus assets.

Mark previously worked at Edward Symmons & Partners, was an Operations Manager for an online auction company and a Regional Disposals and Valuation Manager for Asia based in Bangkok, Thailand, for an asset consultancy firm. His breadth of experience for over 20 years includes handling a major project to dispose of assets formerly belonging to Amedeo Development Corporation in Brunei, considered by many to be the largest auction in the world. He has performed professional services throughout the UK, as well as USA, Brunei, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.

Since forming JPS with his brother Michael Gabel in 2003, they have grown the business with two permanent warehouses and offices in Whitefield, Manchester.  The services and care given to clients is provided with an understanding and experience of handling cases with urgency in insolvency situations, backed up with impressive and appropriate resources, and systems whilst Regulated by RICS.

Mark has undertaken training to act as an Expert Witness in matters relating to valuations of machinery and business assets, as well as professional conduct within this field and has been awarded an Advanced Professional Award in Expert Witness Evidence Level 7 BTEC.

When not working, Mark is a keen traveller, a season ticket holder at Manchester City Football Club and a Trustee of Inspirasia Foundation.  A family man who takes pride in his work and enjoys being a caring husband and doting dad.
